Do you find selling things online to be a headache?
While the internet has blown the world of online retail wide open in recent years, it’s still a pain to sell used items. The reality is that there are scams on almost every platform that can haunt both buyers and sellers.
On eBay, for example, many sellers have mailed items to buyers, only for the buyer to claim that the item never arrived. And yes, things get lost in the mail, but unscrupulous buyers can sometimes receive their item, only to then file for a refund to get both the money AND the item. While buyers’ protections are 100% necessary, we at GTA Guns believe that the seller needs to be protected as well.
When sellers decide to go online to make a sale, they need to take good quality photos of the items to post, verify that a buyer is legitimate, and pack and send the item to the buyer. That’s a lot of work, especially if the seller ends up with a buyer that flakes on the purchase.
Problems like these are why our approach to online gun auctions is different from the approach of other platforms. When a seller comes to us looking to sell their firearms, they’re in for the easiest possible time. In fact, many sellers can’t believe how little work they need to put into the actual sale! That’s the beauty of GTA Guns: we handle the entire sale, from beginning to end, taking the risks out of it for both buyers and sellers. Here’s how:
Your Job as a Seller
Let’s say that you have some firearms that you want to auction off. Maybe you’re looking to downsize your living arrangements, or it’s time to cash in on your initial investment into your firearm collection. Whatever the reason, GTA Guns should be your first stop.
If you want to auction your firearms with us, all you need to do is take your firearms to our brick-and-mortar location—that’s it. Once the guns are in our care, your part in the sale is pretty much done. You can go home and watch the auction as the bids go higher and higher on your items!
Our job, on the other hand, is just starting. First, we put your firearms through our proprietary GUNCHECK™ and CYCLECHECK™ processes to determine their exact condition.
With GUNCHECK™, our experienced gunsmiths inspect the guns, both inside and out. They take high-resolution photos—including fiber-optic bore pictures—so potential buyers can see precisely what they’re bidding on.
With CYCLECHECK™, we run every semi-automatic firearm through rigorous tests to ensure they cycle correctly and take high-resolution videos so potential buyers can see the guns working with their own eyes. We then take all this information and write detailed descriptions for the guns’ auction pages. The firearms are kept in our secure storage facility throughout the auction period to ensure they are kept in perfect condition.
When the auction goes live, you don’t have to do a thing. You can occasionally check in to see bids come in throughout the online auction, but that’s it. Easy, right?
What about when the auction is finished? At its completion, it’s our responsibility to do the paperwork and transfer the firearms to their new owners. We then transfer the proceeds into your bank account.
But what if the buyer gets the firearm and it’s damaged in some way? Or they decide they are unhappy with their purchase? With most other online auctions, dealing with those scenarios would be your responsibility as the seller. With GTA Guns auctions, that responsibility is OURS. We’re the ones who handled the sale, after all. The money is already in your hands, so dealing with buyers is our problem, not yours!
With buyers, we have two guarantees in place so they feel secure bidding in our auctions:
- If they receive a damaged item, they can mail it back to us—we pay the shipping both ways—and our experienced gunsmith will repair it, free of charge (30-day max).
- If they receive an item that isn’t exactly what they expected, they can mail it back to us, and we will list it in our next auction with no sellers’ fees (30-day max, +$3,000 hammer price).
Selling firearms doesn’t need to be a stressful experience. If you’ve been dreading the logistical nightmare of finding a buyer, transferring the firearm to them, and dealing with potential post-sale issues, GTA Guns offers you a jaw-droppingly easy alternative. You just give us your firearms, and we handle everything else. It’s hard to imagine how it could be any easier!
